Design your card

Start from a template or a blank card in our online editor. Type {{Name}}, {{Grade}} or {{Student ID}} where each student's details go, add a photo spot, and add a barcode or QR code set to {{Student ID}}.

Upload your student list

Download a spreadsheet template with your card's exact columns, paste in your student list (up to 2,000 students per upload), and add their photos. You can preview every card before you order.

We print and ship

Every card is printed on industrial card printers and shipped via UPS with tracking within 3–5 business days, or the same day with Rush when you order by 11 AM ET on a weekday.

Built for school IDs

A unique barcode on every card

Add a Code 128 or Code 39 barcode, or a QR code, that pulls each student's own ID number from your spreadsheet. Check with your library, lunch or attendance system which format it reads.

Student photos from a folder

Name each photo file the way it appears in your spreadsheet's Photo column and upload them all at once. They're rotated, resized and cropped to fill the photo spot automatically.

Students and staff, one design or two

Use separate designs for students and staff, or one design with a {{Role}} field. Each upload is its own batch.

Full-roster pricing

Every student in an upload counts toward the quantity, so a whole grade or school gets volume pricing on every card.

Free lanyard or clip slot

Questions

Can each student ID have its own barcode? +
Yes. Add a barcode or QR code in the editor and set its value to {{Student ID}} (or whatever your ID column is called). When you upload your student list, every card is generated with that student's own scannable code, and you can preview each one before ordering.
Which barcode type should I choose? +
Ask whoever runs the system that will scan the card (library, cafeteria, attendance). Code 128 is the default and handles both letters and numbers; Code 39 is an older format some systems still require. A QR code works with phone cameras and most modern scanners.
How do I add student photos? +
Add a Photo column to your spreadsheet with each student's photo file name (for example maya-thompson.jpg), then upload the photos on the roster page. JPEG or PNG; photos from a phone or a school photo export both work.
How much do school ID cards cost? +
From $3.10 a card, depending on quantity. Each student list is priced as one order, so larger schools pay less per card. Orders under 100 cards include a one-time $25 setup fee; 100 or more have no setup fee. See the price table above.
How fast can we get them? +
Standard orders are printed and shipped within 3–5 business days. For same-day shipping, choose Rush (+25%) and order by 11 AM ET on a weekday, then pick Next Day Air at checkout for a back-to-school rush. UPS Ground arrives in 5–7 business days.
Can I see a printed card first? +
Yes. There's no minimum order, so you can order a single card first to check print quality and test the barcode with your scanner before ordering for the whole school.
Will these cards work with door locks or bus readers? +
No. These are printed photo IDs with barcodes and QR codes. Proximity, RFID or HID access-control credentials for card readers aren't something we offer.
How do we handle students who were absent on photo day? +
Upload a short roster with just those students once you have their photos and order only those cards. Your design stays saved, so they match the rest of the school.
Can staff and students have different colors? +
Yes. Make two versions of your design, for example a blue band for staff and a green band for students, and upload a roster for each.
