From spreadsheet to badges in three steps

1

Design your badge

Start from a template or a blank card in our online editor. Type {{Name}}, {{Title}} or {{Employee ID}} where each person's details go, and drop in a photo spot. Or have our design team build it for you.

2

Upload your roster

Download a spreadsheet template with your badge's exact columns, add one row per employee, and upload it with their photos. We make a badge for every person and show you each one before you order.

3

We print and ship

Every badge is printed on industrial card printers and shipped via UPS with tracking within 3–5 business days, or the same day with Rush when you order by 11 AM ET on a weekday.

Built for workplace IDs

A photo on every badge

Phone photos work fine. They're rotated and resized automatically and cropped to fill the photo spot, so every badge looks consistent.

Durable full-color PVC

Standard credit-card size (CR-80), 30mil PVC, full color. Print one side or both, with your logo, colors and any text you need.

Free lanyard slot

Add a punched hole for a lanyard or badge clip at no charge, in whichever corner or edge you choose.

The whole team priced together

A 40-person roster is priced as 40 cards, so volume pricing applies to the entire batch, not card by card.

New hires later

Your badge design stays saved in your account. When someone joins, upload a roster with just the new names and order only those.

Visitor and contractor passes

Need identical cards with no name? Order any quantity of the same design, no spreadsheet required.

Questions

How do I make badges with a different name and photo for each employee? +
Put placeholders like {{Name}} and {{Title}} in your design, then choose Roster on the design. You'll get a spreadsheet template with matching columns. Fill in one row per person, upload it with their photos, and we generate a badge for each employee that you can preview before ordering.
What should employee photos look like? +
JPEG or PNG, ideally head-and-shoulders against a plain background. Photos taken on a phone are fine; they're rotated and resized automatically and cropped to fill the photo area. Name each photo file the way it appears in your spreadsheet's Photo column.
How much do employee ID badges cost? +
From $3.10 a card, depending on quantity. Your whole roster is priced as one order, so a larger team gets a lower price per badge. Orders under 100 cards include a one-time $25 setup fee; 100 or more have no setup fee. See the price table above.
How fast can we get them? +
Standard orders are printed and shipped within 3–5 business days. For same-day shipping, choose Rush (+25%) and order by 11 AM ET on a weekday. UPS Ground then arrives in 5–7 business days, or choose Next Day Air at checkout.
Can you design the badge for us? +
Yes. Our design team offers three tiers, and design is free with orders of 500 cards or more. See design services →
Can I see a real badge before ordering for everyone? +
Yes. There's no minimum order, so you can order a single card first to check the print quality in hand.
Will these badges open our doors? +
No. These are printed photo ID badges. Proximity, RFID or HID access-control credentials for door readers aren't something we offer. Our optional NFC chip opens a web link when tapped with a phone; it isn't a door credential.
What should go on an employee ID badge? +
Most companies use a photo, full name, job title or department, an employee ID number, and the company logo. Many add a barcode or QR code of the ID number, an expiry or issue date, and emergency or return-if-found details on the back. Our ID badge guide covers each in more detail.
Do we need to buy an ID card printer? +
No. You design online and we print on industrial card printers, so there's no printer, ribbon or blank-card stock to buy and maintain. Order one badge for a new hire or a whole roster at once.
